IAO Ontario Section Board Members

At the IAO Ontario section, our goal is to encourage innovation in the field of orthodontics. We do this by educating practitioners in Ontario and encouraging developments in the field of research. We strive to bring together professional orthodontics and their ideas through events like seminars and meetings. We invite you to read about our board members below.

Dr. Rob Pasch

Dr. Rob Pasch

President

Dr. Rob Pasch is an alumnus of Queens University and a graduate of the Toronto Faculty of Dentistry 1982. Dr. Pasch earned a Queens physics exemption and graduated with honours in orthodontics in the GP program. Dr. Pasch has always been interested in pursuing his orthodontic education. He graduated from the Orthodontic mini-residency at the University of Toronto, earned his International Board of Orthodontic Diplomate Status, and earned his MSc in Special Orthodontics from the University of Duisburg-Essen.

A graduate of the 2010 Instructors Institute. He is a Master Senior Instructor with the IAO. 

Dr. Pasch is a graduate of numerous Orthodontic Continuing Education courses. He practices in multiple offices across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), as an orthodontic associate. He is president of both the Toronto-based “Orthodontics & Facial Development Study Club”, and the “Ontario Section of the International Association for Orthodontics”. His practice not only straightens teeth, but he works holistically to reduce tooth extractions, be facial aesthetic friendly and helps to improve both child and adult airway problems. His practice in orthodontics is directed mainly in non-extraction treatment while developing healthy TMJ’s, patent airways, and beautiful faces. Over the years Dr. Pasch has helped over 10,000 cases excluding Syndromes, CLP’s and adult surgical cases toward beautiful smiles.

Dr. Daniel Gibs

Dr. Daniel Gibbs graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry in 1982, having been awarded the Toronto Crown and Bridge Study Club Award. In 2004, Dr. Gibbs joined Dr. Garcia's orthodontic study club sponsored by the International Straight Wire Group. He was accepted into the International Association of Orthodontics in Dec 2009 and was trained in Align Technology for Invisalign® Orthodontics that same year.

In 2012, he achieved Fellow status with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists in Toronto. Dr. Gibbs has been teaching part-time at the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry Prosthodontics Department as a Clinical Instructor for 3rd-year students since 2014.

Dr. Vasant Ramlaggan

Dr. Vasant Ramlaggan achieved his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1995 from the State University of New York, School of Dental Medicine. He completed his Specialist Honours B.Sc. undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto in Microbiology and Human Biology.

Accepted into several residency programmes in the U.S. and graduating in the only year qualified to practise in 25 states, Dr. Ramlaggan chose to return to his Southern Ontario community to complete a one-year Special Care Dentistry programme. During this time, he had the opportunity to care for a variety of patients, including those with disabilities. He served in Northern Ontario communities' special care facilities, Mount Sinai, TGH, and Sick Kid's hospitals and at the University of Toronto dental school. He has lectured to dentists on Smoking Cessation and Dental Lasers.
