growth and function with respect to malocclusions in Orthodontics

Meeting Name: IAO Ontario Meeting Conference

Topic: Growth and Function with Respect to Malocclusion in Orthodontics

Course Description: This course targets developing occlusion starting early to late teens, touching on genetic, environmental, habitual and functional factors that may negatively influence the occlusal and dental development.  The discussion is ideally suited for frontline dental service providers seeing patients and prospective new parents on a regular recall basis.

Course Objectives: To be able to identify influences during growth which have negative developmental results and to guide the developing dentition into acceptable occlusion and facial aesthetics utilizing such things like behaviour modification, corrective appliance therapy and appropriate timely referrals to collateral specialties like ENT, OMFS, Orthodontics, Myofunctional Therapists etc. allowing natural forces to operate so orthognathic development is encouraged and growth normalized.

Guest Speaker and Host: Dr Rob Pasch, DDS, MSc.

Dr. Pasch general practitioner is a graduate and Alumnus of Queen's University, and The University of Toronto Respectively.  A graduate of the University of Toronto Mini Residency in Orthodontics (Dr. Woodside), and numerous Orthodontic Continuing Education courses.  Dr. Pasch received his MSc in "specialized Orthodontics" from the University of Duisburg-Essen (Dr. Joost).

He is a Diplomate of the International Board for Orthodontics, is a Master Senior Instructor and practices in Multiple offices across the Greater Toronto Area(GTA).  He is president of the Toronto based "Orthodontics & Facial Development Study Club" and the "Ontario Section of the International Association for Orthodontics".  His practice not only straightens teeth, but he works holistically to reduce tooth extractions, be facial aesthetic friendly and helps to improve both child and adult airway problems.  His practice in Orthodontics is directed mainly toward non-extraction treatment while developing healthy TMJ's, patient airway, and beautiful faces.  To date (2021) he has completed over 15,000 smiles, not including syndromes, CLP's or Surgical interventions.
